The Tour de Fleece is over and I learned a lot while spinning during that time.

Plans for the Lupus Raffle in September are going well. Thank you to all who have sent in donations for prizes already! Looking to start mid-Sept and run through probably Oct. 5. Tickets will be $5 each and I am hoping to raise $5ooo this year!
Crafting for a Cause will be officially name changing to Homespun Helpers on August 15th. More into on that blog. I am so pleased to be part of this amazing group!
CONTEST!!!!
I am going to give away a copy of Spin It: Making Yarn from Scratch. To be eligible you must leave a comment on this post and I will use the random number generator to pick a winner. One entry per person no matter how many times you comment. And if you don't have a blog, that is ok as long as I can get in touch with you! I will be raiding my yarn stash for at least one yarn prize as well!

I love your podcast. I'm a knitter who's interested in taking up spinning, so I would love to win the book
hey! you have so many wips... I don't think I could ever keep up with them!
& for contest contact - motion.sickness@hotmail.com
ps. have you tried jo-anns for buttons? you might have said, sorry if i missed it
I came to your blog via Turtlegirls - your link was underneath mine.
Love the colours you chose for Mariposa :)
Thanks for the new episode!
You help keep me going while I am at work!
Cheers!
Really enjoying your podcast thus far, please keep them up. They are great company while I knit in the evenings. :)
Don't worry about having a 2 year UFO. I knit up a jumper that I knit and only needed to be seamed and gave it to my mum after 10 years as the jumper and I were no longer the same size. I'm not actually sure if mum ever seamed it either... that was 6 years ago.
I hate seaming too! still wroking on a sweater I started in Feb. Maybe I'll finish it this winter!
I followed the TurtleGirl link too. I'm excited you do a podcast, I *heart* podcasts.
I almost had as many WIPs as you (possibly more) but i was never getting anything done so i frogged most of them and am only working on one project at a time. I also bead, and try to design, and create cross-stitch pitures... I still haven't finished anything because I keep ballsing them up too badly, but it will happen. I have faith.
Anyways, hi!
Thanks for the review of the books, I have been puttering around the edges of spinning and have yet to take the plunge, but I've been collecting books - in the desperate hope that this will help me...
I've got a UFO that's at least 6 yrs old (ie. more than 2 university degrees ago...) I changed sizes and decided that knitting with ribbon yarn was a pain... I should dig up that and frog it...
I so enjoy listening to your podcast - you've got a great "radio" voice! I've gone as far as purchasing a handpainted drop spindle and roving but have not been able to quite figure out how to use it! These books sound great - definitely ones to get whether or not I win!
I've been enjoying your podcast muchly! I spin and enjoy starting projects as much as anyone...keep on chatting and I promise I'll keep listening!
Hi, Aimee,
Thanks for telling me to move my comment over here. You are putting out a wonderful podcast--fun, informative, and interesting, without the rambling silliness of some of the others. Have a great vacation. When is the big move?
Kathy
I really enjoy your podcast. I listen while I do my daily walk. Thanks for reviewing the spinning books. I have the older book and didn'know if the newer one was different enough to buy. Two years for UFO is nothing to worry about. I started a sweater when my youngest started kindergarten. He is now starting his sophomore year in college. :) I actually knit some on it this summer.
Hi Aimee,
Just found your podcast and downloaded all of the episodes. Love it! Keep up the great work. I have been knitting for about 4 years now and I also want to learn to spin but do not know where to start. Wheels are so expensive so I have thought about getting a drop spindle but again don't know which one to get. Take care and see you Ravelry!
Love your show. Just got back to spinning after years of just knitting.
Nice to see your Basalt tank; it is in my queue as are many things from Knitting Nature.
